Jockey Martin Ferris rolled back the years somewhat when recording a double on the David Finn trained Aviatore in the Joe Rea Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick today.
Ferris held the son of Tiger Hill up in the early stages before making steady headway to lead after the final flight, staying on well for a five and a half lengths win over Baby's Hot
Twenty eight year old Ferris, from Cork, later revealed his previous double was gained at this venue in May 2006 when Aviatore, then in the care of Gerry Cully, made up the opening leg of his double.
