Swingbridge and Flaxen Flare won at Killarney for Gordon Elliott and he added to those gains at Roscommon when Faugheen's half-brother Osmotic triumphed on start two, in the Kepak INH Flat Race.
With Jamie Codd up in the Gigginstown House Stud silks Osmotic disputed the lead, and he chased the leader after three furlongs.
Osmotic led two furlongs out, and ridden to assert over a furlong out, the Fracas gelding kept on strongly to go clear inside the final furlong, eased close home to beat Tecumseh Sherman by nine lengths.
“He’d a few niggly problems all year and we never got to run him. He’s a horse for the future," said Elliott.
“He’s a big stayer but he did it well and Jamie was very happy with him.”
Under the provisions of Rule 90, the Stewards allowed Stormy Master trained by Ray Hackett, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the error identified in the certification of vaccinations would be corrected in accordance with Rule 91 within the timeframe specified.
