Father and son, trainer and jockey Seamus and Dinny Spillane were on the mark in the Ticket Sales Online Mares Maiden Hurdle at Cork today as their Goulane Davina lead home three other finishers in the 13 runner race.
Testing ground was a big factor to eight of the runners pulling up but the winning daughter of Well Chosen responded well to conditions for her 18 lengths win.
Afterwards trainer Seamus Spillane stated “we were a bit doubty about the ground but she is progressive. She's a bit tidy to jump a fence but should be helped by a bit of better ground.
“Dinny (Spillane) does most of the training and I have four of my lads all helping out.”
