Fastman drew first blood for Willie Mullins' team when quickening up nicely under Declan McDonagh to take the inaugural Barney Curley Charity Cup Handicap at Bellewstown.
Without a win since September 2018, the John McConnell-trained victor had dropped to a lenient mark and showed a bit more sparkle when placed on his most recent starts.
Nicely positioned just off the pace by McDonagh, the six-year-old headed Dark Note just inside the furlong marker, before staying on well to land the spoils.
Dark Note and Ransom took minor honours for the Frankie Dettori team, with Tara Power back in fourth place.
“He just jinked a little bit at the road with me. They can do that here,” said McDonogh.
“I was always in control and travelled around well. He's in good nick at the moment and was entitled to win one.”
