Frenetic made a winning debut at Navan today when appropriately bouncing smartly from stalls and making all to win the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden.
The daughter of Kodiac broke smartly from the inside stall and while jockey Colin Keane appeared content to make the running, the pair did so in a very controlled manner and in the end stayed on well to fend off the promising challenges of Ballydoyle pair Mother Earth and Snowfall
Afterwards Shane Lyons, representing his brother trainer Ger Lyons, stated “she's a lovely filly and we've always thought a bit of her.
“She's owned by new foreign clients, managed by Ed Sackville. Ed Sackville bought her at the sales (for 170,000gns at Tattersalls last October) and Ger was underbidder on her that day. He kindly sent her to us afterwards.
“She's been very professional from the word go and we knew she was an early type.
“Colin said she was very professional in the stalls, very professional throughout the race, and liked the ground.
“On that performance you'd like to think we'd go stakes hunting now. We'll stay at home and probably go to Naas next (Group 3 Juvenile Fillies Sprint on July 4th).
“She's very sharp and professional. We knew that and wanted to get her on to the track to prove it to us. We have a nice bunch of horses.”
