Famous Name canters home in style
Course specialist Famous Name put his rivals to the sword in the listed Trigo Stakes at Leopardstown to win by seven lengths from Devoted To You to justify 11/8 favouritism.
Pat Smullen sent the son of Dansili to the front about a furlong and a half out and the duo powered away to land the spoils in terrific style.
Dermot Weld was full of praise for his stable stalwart. He said: "He's a lovely horse to train. That's ten group and listed wins in total for him and he's very good round Leopardstown.
"He's entered in Paris on Sunday so a decision will be taken on that later in the week. As regards whether he stays in training next year, I would love him to as he has a tremendous enthusiasm for racing, but I'll have to speak to Lord Grimthorpe (racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah).
"I would say I've won more group and listed races this year than I have ever won."
Famous Name brought up a double on the day for Weld and Smullen.
