Family win for Maddens
Shake The Bucket representing the Madden family, proved a family win in every possible way at Dundalk this evening, when dramatically coming from last to first in the straight to cause an 18/1 upset on his handicap debut in the Christmas Parties At Dundalk Handicap (div 2).
Each of the Maddens ‘pitched in’ with the win – father Niall trains, daughter Sarah Ann (formerly an employee of www.irishracing.com) owns, mother Tricia is the official breeder, and sons Niall and Tom partnered and led-up the winner, respectively.
Shake The Bucket, a point to point winner, displayed a good turn of foot to pick off each rival in the straight, eventually defeating Humiliation by three parts of a length.
Afterwards the winning trainer stated “this fellow won a point to point and we’ve always thought a lot of him. He really needs at least at mile and a half but he took to the track well today. He may come back here next if he isn’t sold in the meantime.”
