Paul Carberry was at his patient best when steering the Adrian Murray trained Fairymount Lord to an easy win in the Cahore Point Handicap Hurdle at Wexford today.
Fairyhount Lord was held up in rear and was untidy at his hurdles in the back straight. However Carberry bided his time and produced the gelding with his effort after two out, eventually staying on strongly to easily defeat Vicalus
Afterwards Murray said “Fairymount Lord is in again at Cork on Monday – he is 10 in the ballot so he mightn't get in but we'll see how he comes out of this.
“He disappointed me at Downroyal the last day when he didn't pick up as well as I hoped. Paul (Carberry) said to me today that there was another hurdle race in him but he is a real chaser and will go chasing soon. He acts on any ground and I always thought he was well handicapped.”
