Facethepuckout gained a second career win at Listowel today as the Michael O'Callaghan trained gelding landed the Listowel Arms Handicap under jockey Leigh Roche.
Previously successful for trainer Joseph O'Brien at Gowran in August 2018, the son of Excelebration today ended a 21 race losing spell when stretching clear of his rivals in the home straight, before scoring a six lengths win over Yafordadoe
Afterwards O’Callaghan reported “it’s his fifth run for us and we got him for 13,000gns at the July Sales as a fun horse for the lads (Monabeg Investments Limited, from Fermoy).
“We’ve got to know him now, he’s sweetened up lovely and seems a different horse there today.
“Leigh got a nice position and he’s fit and well. He went through the ground, and maybe that exaggerated the distance a bit.
“We’ll enjoy today. The lads are great supporters, and that means a lot to them.”
