The Jim Bolger trained, Kevin Manning ridden Oh Grace justified strong market support (5/4f) when making all to beat seven debutantes in the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown today
The daughter of Lawman, having her fourth start, was backed from 9/4 this morning and in the end went well clear of her rivals for a comfortable win over Mujaazy with Butterflies a half-sister to Giant’s Causeway, back in third.
Afterwards Bolger stated “I didn’t think she would have three runs before she would win. She’s out of a Galileo mare, and the step up to seven furlongs was a big help to her.”
Regarding Royal Ascot prospects, he added “Lucida will go for the Duke Of Cambridge, and Herald The Dawn goes for the Jersey. There are another few possibles.”
