Exodus shines for Heffernan
Aidan O'Brien completed a quick double, in the mile maiden for colts and geldings, at Navan when Exodus ran out an impressive winner under Seamus Heffernan.
The son of Montjeu was soon in front and travelled well at the head of affairs.
The 14/1 shot kicked clear from the two furlong pole and strode away in the closing stages to post a comprehensive nine-length success over The High Man Pirate Chest the mount of Johnny Murtagh, was sent off 9/10 favourite but could never land a blow on the leader in the straight and eventually had to settle for third.
"I liked him the first day in Leopardstown and we thought he would win when he was favourite in Listowel," said Heffernan afterwards.
"He got a fright and didn't jump then but he won well today."
