Evening Hush sluiced through the soft ground on the round course at Tipperary for an emphatic victory in the extended mile and a half maiden.
Ken Condon's charge snapped a run of three second places in-a-row this evening and brought up a double on the card for the trainer and jockey Shane Foley.
Foley tracked Seamie Heffernan on front-running Etched (6/4f) before drawing alongside that rival inside the final three and a half furlongs.
Foley then sent her on entering the home straight and she quickly put plenty of daylight between herself and Etched.
Evening Hush maintained the gallop and stormed home by nine and a half lengths at 3/1.
A major on-course gamble on newcomer Finian's Bay was foiled. Jim Bolger's charge was backed off the boards from 6/1 to 2/1 but never got competitive. She did keep on to take second place though.
"She seems to grow a leg on that type of ground and is progressing with her racing," Ken Condon said.
"It was too sharp for her at Wexford on Saturday but she came out of the race well and is a tough, staying filly.
"She'll go for a fillies' handicap next and, while she won't run on summer good (ground), if things go right we could aim for black type at the back-end of the year."
