Erzindjan followed an older sister in winning an Irish maiden this month as the Aga Khan owned colt landed the opening Coolmore Stud Gleneagles Irish EBF Maiden at Cork today for trainer Dermot Weld and Oisin Orr.
Second-foal Erzindjan, by Lope De Vega, today comfortably beat Vocito to credit his Listed winning dam Eshera with a second winner this month, as older sibling and Weld trained Eshtiya had won at Dundalk ten days previously.
Following the race jockey Orr stated “he came on from his debut run which put him right for today and he handled the ground well; it is definitely heavy ground out there.”
