Phillip Enright rightly gained praise for his handling of Allardyce winner of the concluding Join The Gowran Park Racing Club Handicap Chase.
Edward O’Grady’s charge raced in the rear of mid-division, making a slight mistake at the second.
He went fifth four out and made headway into third three out.
Taking over on the stand’s side after two out Allardyce was soon pushed clear, staying on well under hands and heels inside the final furlong to comfortably account for Conright Boy by six lengths.
“He jumped into himself in Roscommon last time and has taken a while to come back,” said O’Grady
“I thought that he’d need the run but to give Phillip his due he dropped him in and took his time. Fingers crossed there is another day in him.”
Rachael Blackmore, rider of Kavanaghs Corner trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount put its leg over the reins and was subsequently pulled up.
