Ennis on target in the West again
Frank Ennis got his season on track when Salazaar scored at Sligo last Tuesday and the Cutbush, Curragh trainer struck again in the West when Intapeace landed the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap under the in-form Ben Curtis.
Curtis, in the familiar colours of owner/breeder John Malone, got to the front on the daughter of Intikhab about a furlong out and she stayed on well to beat July Days by a length and three parts.
Ennis commented: "She'll go for another handicap now, probably at Galway. She'd like a cut in the ground. When she won as a two-year-old she beat an O'Brien filly (Famous) by seven lengths. That was on good ground but she loves a bit of juice."
