Damian English has enjoyed a fine winter campaign on the all-weather and the Naul handler looks to have a strong hand in the feature Matthews.ie Race at Dundalk tonight.
English is responsible for three of the five runners in the mile contest and Red Avenger would appear to be his leading hope at the weights.
The War Front gelding has won three times since joining the yard but is on something of a retrieval mission after a couple of disappointing efforts.
He was eased when attempting 10 furlongs last time and had blown the start on his previous outing at the venue.
A mark of 92 makes him the second-top-rated horse in the €25,000 contest, however.
Stablemate Tribal Path proved a star for the yard last year, winning six times, but makes his first outing since struggling in Listed company at the Curragh in October.
The third of the stable's trio, Bluesbreaker would appear to have a bit to find off a mark of 72.
Top rated in the race is Texas Rock who was last seen winning back-to-back contests at the Curragh in the autumn.
A mark of 96 sets him out as the one to beat but he is best suited by a fast pace and the five-runner contest may not play to his strengths.
The unexposed Another Story looks a fascinating runner for Sheila Lavery.
The trainer was talking of big things for her home-bred after she scored at the track last May but the daughter of Rip Van Winkle has not been seen in action since.
The following Weatherbys GSB Rated Race brings together some old favourites at the track and looks set to be a tightly-contested affair.
Duchessofflorrence and Song Of Love reoppose after the later gained a narrow neck victory over course and distance three weeks ago.
There is a 1lb turnaround now and it looks sure to be close again between the pair.
Duchessofflorrence's trainer Michael Halford will be hoping to add to his Dundalk haul in the Elusive Pimpernel Maiden with Allography
The Godolphin-owned colt lost out by half a length in a decent maiden at the track three weeks ago and connections will be hopeful he can get his head in front now.
