The featured Listed Dark Angel European Breeders Fund Sweet Mimosa Stakes at Naas this evening went to the Aidan O'Brien trained Empowering (12/1), under Joseph O'Brien, who defeated Caprella and stablemate After in a close finish.
O'Brien pushed Empowering to the front inside the final furlong, heading Caprella and while After closed on the pair close home, Empowering held on for a half length success.
O'Brien Snr was not present but jockey Joseph did mention “she is tough and tries hard and her heart is the biggest part of her.
“I was always confident I would catch Johnny (Murtagh, on Caprella) but I wasn't sure about the horse coming behind me (After).”
