Narlita returned to a great reception after winning the Mary Rogers Memorial Handicap under Ronan Whelan.
Runner-up twice this year, the 10/3 chance was poised to challenge from early in the straight but Whelan bided his time and it was only well inside the final furlong that he asked his mount to seal the deal. The four-year-old drew away close to the line to beat Enquire Within by a length and a quarter.
Harry Rogers was delighted to win the race run in memory of his late wife and said: “Obviously she's looking down on us and keeping it going. That's good for everyone and will keep everyone going.
“There is a lot of family here and it's great. It's a great meeting here at Bellewstown and Mary always loved coming here so that's why we come back here.
“She's not a bad filly, she's been unlucky in the past and it might go right for her from hereon in.”
