Emiyna wins Athasi Stakes
Bookmakers were, for the third successive race at The Curragh today, on the losing end with the win of Emiyna (9/2 in the morning into 5/2f) in the Group 3 Starspangledbanner EBF Athasi Stakes.
The daughter of Maria’s Mon, under Johnny Murtagh, eventually edged out Lolly For Dolly by a short head.
Afterwards winning trainer John Oxx stated “I’m delighted with that as she is a good filly and will run next in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, all going well.”
“She has lots of stamina on her dam’s side but is not a stayer herself as she has plenty of speed. She needs to keep improving now and was a little green when she hit the front.”
Paddy Power bookmakers quote Emiyna at 16/1 from 50/1 for the Epsom Oaks.
