Embiyra goes in at 4/6 on debut

At 4/6 from almost equivalent odds against earlier, Embiyra justified the confidence of her backers in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden (Plus 10 Race) at Dundalk under 'Dusty' Foley.
Seemingly a modest pace led to five of the six participants still holding claims over a furlong out.
Not surprisingly given that she was making her debut, Embiyra took a little while to hit top stride inside the last, but to her credit she did enough to beat the twice previously raced Glenmayne by a head.
At the huge odds of 150/1 Scatterling took the third spot half a length adrift.
"She's a grand filly and was just ready to start. She's a big scopey filly and we hadn't a terrible lot done with her. It's nice to get her head in front," said Halford.
"She'll get a mile-and-a-quarter next year no bother. She has a lovely pedigree and will make a nice middle distance filly.
"It's not like one of ours to start that price first time out, and that was maybe a lack of others fancied."
