Elliott scores with Fool's Wildcat
Gordon Elliott’s Fool’s Wildcat landed the two mile novice handicap hurdle at Leopardstown by five lengths from Harold’s Cross. 7/2 favourite Tadhg was a length further back in third.
Elliott was pleased to have scored with the four-year-old gelding. He said: “That was a good win as he has been sneaking up the handicap. I’ve had three or four winners for the owners Mick and Marie O’Shea this season. He’s a better horse on better ground but I might turn him out later in the week as he is entered everywhere.”
Fool’s Wildcat had a narrow advantage at the last and drew right away from his rivals. He was returned at 6/1 with Harold’s Cross 8/1. Tadhg was the subject of support from 4/1 to 7/2 in a weak betting race.
