Gordon Elliott ended a frustrating day on a high note when newcomer Roaring Bull charged home to land the concluding Dooley Insurances Flat Race.
The Gigginstown gelding was sent to post an unfancied 25/1 shot but burst through inside the final furlong under Lisa O'Neill.
He kept on well in the closing stages to beat The Butcher Said by half a length.
“Eddie O'Leary and Mags O'Toole, who buy all the horses for Gigginstown, always buy a nice looking horse,” said Elliott.
“To be honest he was going to run in a point-to-point at the weekend and the ground was too quick.
“I won't have him next year and someone else will get to enjoy him now.
“I wanted to have as many runners here as I did. I thought my other horse (Stooshie) was the pick. He was a bit unlucky. He got left at the start and got mowed out of it. He's not a bad horse.
“Lisa gave the winner a peach and is a great bit of stuff. We're lucky to have her. She's only about nine stone but she's brave as a lion. As long as she keeps doing it we'll keep putting her up.”
Looking ahead to tomorrow Elliott said:- "Outlander was very disappointing in the Gold Cup and was beat after two fences.
"We've got plenty of chances tomorrow. We're under no illusions and knew it was going to be a long hard week coming into it.
"If we can stay in front of the battle it would be great and if we don't we've had a marvellous season.
"It's heart-breaking looking at it but Willie is an amazing man and hopefully someday we can be in his position.
When it was put to him that he wouldn't be lying down in the battle for the trainer's title he responded:- "You're right there - I won't."
