Highway To Success (4/1cf) came home best of all under Declan McDonogh to take the seven furlong juvenile auction maiden in Galway.
The Fast Company colt had a less than ideal draw in 11 of the 12 runners but was nudged along early by McDonogh to sit close to the pace despite running freely.
Gordon Elliott 's charge travelled sweetly in third three furlongs out and motored into second approaching the two marker.
He challenged Macken and took over from him with a furlong to travel. He then kept on to win by three parts of a length from 9/1 shot Harvest Bow who was nearest at the finish in second.
Third-placed Sunblessed also did good late work in third at 7/1.
Declan McDonogh said: “Gordon has done a great job. The two-year-olds were a bit ill in the spring and he’s got them back to rude health. Hopefully there is a few more winners in there somewhere.
“He jumped and he travelled. He brought me though the race nicely and he stuck at it. He got through the ground well too. For a small horse he’s got plenty of heart.”
