Trainer Gordon Elliott combined with stable and champion jockey Jack Kennedy to complete Fairyhouse doubles today as The Mediator (8/11f) gained a deserved first success in the Sign Up To GavinLynchRacing.com Maiden Hurdle.
The Sheila O'Ryan-owned seven-year-old had finished second on his three previous starts and today, at the 19th time of asking, raced with the pace and eventually scored easily from Complete Fiction
Elliott, who won today's opener with the Kennedy-partnered Croke Park reported “The Mediator deserved to win as he's been knocking on the door for a long time, so it's great.”
“He's got loads of ability but he's been frustrating. We'll stick him in a handicap now and see what he does.”
