Eddie G got off the mark at the fifth time of asking in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Apprentice Handicap over six furlongs in Dundalk.
The 5/4 favourite took aim at pace-setting The Poacher Daly and collared him inside the final furlong. Cian MacRedmond drove him home by three-parts of a length from the 9/2 runner-up. Mary Shoelaces was another length and a-quarter away in third at 6/1.
Ado McGuinness said: "There was a bit of a malfunction here the last day - the stalls didn't open and he banged his head out of the stalls that night. It was no fault of his and he just got a bit upset.
"At least he put it right tonight. He flew home and I think he could be a nice horse later in the year on grass.
"Galway men (Taceec Syndicate) own him and he will end up back there at some stage.
"There is a 0-70 down here next month and we will come back for that and then give him a break."
