Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen made it three-in-a-row at Naas this evening when Ebediyin ran out a stylish winner of the Tipper Road Race.
The son of Raven's Pass, beaten favourite when third at Gowran on his return last month, was easy to back in the mile-and-a-half contest and returned a 7/2 shot having been 15/8 this morning.
Smullen gave the Aga Khan colt a confident ride though as he settled in rear and travelled sweetly into contention in the straight.
He was sent to the front over a furlong out and kept on well in the closing stages to post a two-length win over even-money favourite Kellstorm who took the runner-up spot close home from front-running stable-mate Sword Fighter
"He stays well and is a tough colt. He appreciates going a mile and a half as most of the family do, and will be aimed now at black type races over a mile and a half plus,” said Weld.
"The King George Cup, the race formerly known as the Nijinsky Stakes at Leopardstown, is a likely race for him or the Queens Vase could be another option."
