Ask The Leader gained a second career win, both at Downpatrick, today, landing the MB McGrady Chartered Accountants Handicap Hurdle for trainer David Christie and jockey Jack Foley.
The daughter of Ask moved past early leader Getting In Touch after the third last flight, was soon clear and stayed on strongly to eventually beat Monoxide by 12 lengths.
Ask The Leader was a 20/1 winner at the course in August and following today's success, jockey Foley said "we had a tearaway (Getting In Touch) front-runner which probably suited me as I went a steadier gallop in behind and she seems to have a liking for the course.”
Christie was on lead-up duty and Foley added “it's great to get a winner for Dave as well - he said if she handled the ground, he could see her running a decent race. She travelled and jumped well which was a big help on that ground."
