Cailin Annamh made light work of seeing off seven rivals when justifying 5/4 favouritism in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Hurdle at Kilbeggan today, under Barry Geraghty.
The daughter of Definite Article moved to the front before the second last and stayed on strongly for an easy five and a half lengths win over Sea Rocket
Winning trainer Jessica Harrington later stated “she was good and settled better without the cheekpieces today and jumped well. We'll keep her going as long as the ground is alright and she'll go for the 2m4f novice hurdle in Listowel next. She'll have to take on the geldings there as she isn't eligible to run in the mares' race.”
