Eagle´s Pass wins Cork feature
Thomond O´Mara´s Eagle´s Pass landed the featured Ulster Bank Mallow Hurdle at Cork this evening.
Ridden by Paddy Flood, Eagle´s Pass moved to take over from Rathmore Castle from the second last flight, eventually winning by two lengths from Oodachee with Rathmore Castle and rider Mike Darcy none the worse from a final flight exit.
Disappointment in the race was Paul Nolan´s Accordion Etoile who eventually pulled up. He was subsequently found to be post race normal.
O´Mara later reported "this horse is my wife Roisin´s baby as she rides him out every day! He was third in the Galway Hurdle last year and that has been the plan ever since but I thought today´s race (2m4f) would be too far!"
