Dutch Schaefer (6/1) registered her first victory in the Follow Limerick Racecourse On Facebook Apprentice Handicap.
The daughter of Dutch Art tracked the leaders and travelled well under Joey Sheridan before hitting the front under two furlongs out. You Owe Me Money came out of the pack to give chase to the winner inside the final furlong but was held by three quarters of a length.
The 3-year-old chestnut had finished fifth at Listowel on her previous outing and was getting off the mark at the eighth time of asking.
Winning trainer Denis Hogan said: “That is brilliant, she was very gutsy as I thought she was there to be swallowed up. To be fair, she put her head down and Joey said she battled when the other horses came to her.
"It has been a long year with her as the owners (Genesis Thoroughbreds Club) have had to wait and wait and they had great patience and never bothered me all year and said not to run her until it is soft. They waited and have been repaid so thanks to them.
"She is in at the Curragh on Thursday, that is an option, and we'll make hay for the remaining weeks of the season."
