Dundalk double for Whearty
Picpoul gets the better of Wee Jim

Apprentice jockey Robert Whearty completed a first career double today, landing Dundalk's DundalkStadium.com Handicap (div I) on the Michael Rice trained Picpoul
The daughter of Gale Force Ten was a 50/1 winner over today's course and 1m4f distance last Wednesday and today, the 11/4 favourite, scored by half a length from Wee Jim
Rice, who trains locally, later reported “she’s the first flat horse that I’ve trained so I might be looking at getting a few more in! She’s a decent filly and I took my time with her as a two-year-old, got her experienced and it’s paid off.
“She never missed a feed from last week and I’ve actually given her an extra kilo a day.
“We might step her up in trip. There is a two-mile race here on Friday week so we’ll have a look at that.”
Jockey Whearty had earlier steered the Pat Martin trained Indiana Grey to the opening leg of his double.
