Duers records hat-trick of wins
Trainer Paul Magnier and Barry Geraghty jockey, combined to win the Southampton Goodwill Chase with the consistent Duers making it a hat-trick of wins for the seven year old.
“He’s a big safe horse and he jumps really well. We were a little bit worried about the trip, we thought it might be a shade short for him”, said a delighted Magnier.
“He is progressing all of the time and the main plan would be to run him in the Aintree Grand National next year. He’s within a win of getting into the handicap.”
The Mouse Morris trained The Phantom Piper who took a crashing fall at the second last had to be put down after he broke his leg. Jockey John Cullen is fine.
