Amo Racing Ltd's exciting Elegant Man (4/7f) was the ready winner of Dundalk's Dundalk Winter Series Leading Trainer & Jockey Championship Race today, with connections targeting the upcoming Dubai festival.
A course maiden winner on debut in October, the Arrogate-colt finished second at Listed level on once subsequent run at Kempton last month and today, under Miky Sheehy, had no difficulty beating capable rivals, eventually defeating 99-rated Tyson Fury by 3.5 lengths.
Winning trainer Adrian Murray, whose Bucanero Fuerte is second-highest rated juvenile of 2023 behind City Of Troy, reported “Elegant Man will probably improve because he is having a little blow. Mikey (Sheehy) said he was still green when he hit the front.
"The form of the Listed race (at Kempton) is very strong and that was as good as a Group 2 race you would say.
"He loves this surface and will be kept on this type of surface for the time being, but I could see him going on the grass over the summer. We worked him on the grass, he is a beautiful mover and he doesn't look like he would have any bother stepping up in trip.
"Kia (Joorabchian, owner) is anxious that he goes to Dubai and that will probably be our next target. We haven't pinpointed a race but we will talk and see what they want to do.”
