Drop in grade suits Rocco's
Rocco's Hall gained an overdue win over fences when taking the beginners chase at Kilbeggan.
Andrew McNamara sent his mount on at the second last and he always looked in control from there.
The Edward O'Grady-trained gelding galloped on strongly for a cosy five-length success over Page One Two Nine
The winner had been well-beaten in recent starts but a drop in grade here did the trick.
"He was due that. Today was as good as he's ever jumped. He tends to jump a bit big and slow. The blinkers sharpened him up and I think they made the difference," said McNamara afterwards.
