Repeater foiled a gamble on 6/4 favourite Alveena when getting up on the line to win the mile and a half handicap in the Curragh by a short head.
This gave trainer Amanda Mooney her first victory in the training ranks.
Alveena (3/1 in the morning to 6/4) looked to have seen off her 14 rivals entering the final furlong but Killian Leonard had plenty of horse under him and unleashed Repeater (14/1) down the outside.
It was a head bobber in the closing stages but Repeater's head landed where it mattered. Princess Aloof (25/1 to 20/1) was two and a half lengths back in third but a head in front of fourth-placed Avenante
Amanda Mooney said: "He's had heaps of problems with ulcers and kissing spines but my vet, Liam Sharp, has done a great job.
"He believes in himself now and is improving. He's improved from Chester and I think he can improve again.
"I took out a training licence a couple of years ago. I've four in training, all my own, and that's my first winner."
Repeater had been third in Leopardstown and second at Chester in his last two outings.
