Dreadnot scores as Marlay blunders
Dreadnot ran out a convincing winner of the opening maiden hurdle but the story of the race was 4/6 favourite Marlay Park having another unlucky run at Navan.
Danny Mullins performed miracles to stay aboard when Marlay Park made a bad blunder at the fifth last, ruining his chances.
He came through in the closing stages to chase home Dreadnot, but Noel Meade's charge had already flown, recording a six-length victory.
It was the second unlucky outing at the track for Mags Mullins' charge, who had stumbled and unseated when in contention here on his penultimate start.
Meade was absent having travelled over to Cheltenham with his horses and winning rider Paul Carberry said :- "He did it well and appreciated the drying ground."
