Doyle & Barry on the mark again at Tramore
For the fifth time from six races front-running tactics yielded dividends at Tramore as Shay Barry rode his first winner since fracturing his pelvis at Killarney in August by guiding Come To The Party to success in the Newtown Handicap Steeplechase.
Barry's mount, the top-weight, was sent off a 12/1 chance for the local Eoin Doyle yard, who has made a habit of saddling winners at this venue, and he forged on from the final fence to see off favourite, Isourbell by four lengths.
Doyle said: "That was a great ride from Shay. It's grand to get a win out of him. He has lots of ability but he is a rogue. My mother owns him so that will keep her happy for a while!"
