Robbie Downey partnered his sixth career win, and his fifth since October 5, when steering Hello Humpfrey to win the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap (div 2) at Dundalk this evening.
Downey, 17 and from Kilcock in County Kildare, is based with trainer Eddie Lynam but was maintaining a remarkable run of success with Hello Humpfrey's trainer Peter Casey whose son Francis Casey later said “Robbie is a lucky rider for us and that's now three winners from five rides; the gaps just seem to come for him!”
He added “I'm sure he'll (Hello Humpfrey) come back here again some something similar. We have eight horses riding out at the moment and really all the credit goes to my brother Peter who rides them all.”
