Line View under jockey Paul Townend, made all when causing a 20/1 upset in the concluding Tom Carroll Memorial Handicap Chase at Tramore today, providing his trainer James Dullea with an across-the-card racecourse/point-to-point double on the day.
Dullea, who trained Champion Chase winner Newmill in the latter years, later commented “I just had a winner (Kalanisi King) in a point-to-point twenty minutes ago so it's a good start to 2017 - if the rest of the year could be something like this I will be delighted."
He added "I genuinely thought my luck wouldn't hold up today with the way the ground was, and even though it was a low grade handicap it was very competitive.
“Paul (Townend) was brilliant on him; he got away in front and dictated the pace to suit our horse and the horse’s jumping probably won it for him.
“The horse deserved to win more than anything as he was unlucky to run into a couple of good horses the last few months. I don't know where he will go from here, he might get a break and come back in the spring.”
