Owner J.P. McManus and jockey Mark Walsh completed doubles at Punchestown today, as the Tony Martin trained Gain De Cause recorded consecutive wins in the Hollywoodbets Daily Boost Novice Handicap Hurdle.
The son of Fame And Glory was raised 9lbs for a course win on December 5 and while headed by Krabat before the final flight today, Walsh switched to the inside and the pair finished best to lead at the line and score by a short-head.
Trainer Martin later said “luck was with us today and the handicapper got it spot on. It worked out well and he got a leap at the last and that was the winning of it, which was great.
“He's a big horse and you'd hope chasing will be his job down the road.”
McManus and Walsh were successful in the earlier hurdle with the Gavin Cromwell trained Limerick Lace
