Double up at Sligo for Elliott
Take A Turn heads for victory under Keith Donoghue

The featured Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel & Lodges Enniskillen Rated Novice Hurdle served up an exciting spectacle at Sligo with Gordon Elliott bringing up a double courtesy of the Keith Donoghue-ridden Take A Turn (5/2 out to 7/2).
Earlier successful with the Davy Russell-partnered Lethal Steps here Cullentra House hope Take A Turn wasn't fluent at the last. British Art had to be switched on the run-in and he stayed on to be second at the finish, a length and a half off Take A Turn.
“He’s an improving horse and the ground is as quick as he wants but he got away with it. If I’d jumped the last well I’d have won a lot easier but he was always just doing enough," reported Donoghue.
“He’s a nice horse to look forward to for the summer. He picked up well after the mistake and I’d say when he gets three miles he’ll improve.”
The Stewards fined Andrew Slattery, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Cooldine Bog in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Cooldine Bog in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Stay Humble trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on its right hind post race.
P. Townend, rider of Stay Humble trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise from the back of the third last.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Padraic O Conaire trained by Mrs. Y. Dunleavy was lame on its off fore leg post race.
The Stewards interviewed J.J. Slevin, rider of Gipsy Lee Rose (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(i) (time to respond) and having taken his record into account suspended him for 2 race days.
The Stewards interviewed A. Ring, rider of British Art (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(i)(time to respond) and having taken his record into account cautioned him.
