It was a case of doubles all-round as Bundle Of Fun s victory in the Con Murphy & Paddy Hunt Memorial Handicap Chase provided both Willie Mullins and Paul Townend with their second successes of the afternoon.
The 7/1 chance has proved in the past that stamina is his fortee, and this three miles distance brought out the best in the nine-year-old gelding.
Townend, successful earlier in the day on the Tom Taaffe-trained Heaney sent him to the front three out and, despite being awkward at the next, stayed on strongly to beat Give Us A Hand (12/1) by four and a ahalf lengths.
The patiently-ridden Sicilian Secret (5/2fav) just failed to make it a 1-2 for the champion trainer, and was a short-head back in third.
Mullins was also on the mark this afternoon with Digeanta in the maiden hurdle.
Townend commented, "He jumped for fun, and stayed at it well off his light weight."
