Five pound claimer Mark Enright had a day that he won't forget in a hurry as he completed a 142/1 double as Murchu came out best in an incredible conclusion to the Caffrey's Bar & Restaurant Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.
Paul Carberry deputised for Ruby Walsh on Give Us A Hand in the three mile five furlong stamina test, and he, along with Murchu and Spot The Boss had a tremendous battle up the straight.
Given the extreme distance, it was amazing to see Murchu, Give Us A Hand and Spot The Boss separated by just a nose and a neck at the line.
That trio left Bangonform twenty nine lengths behind in fourth.
Earlier on the card Enright had been on the mark on David Fenton's Avondhu Lady
John 'Shark' Hanlon trains Murchu for Paul McMahon and he said: "That's great – he stays all day. I was afraid of the ground as he likes it better.
"I've said to Paul in the past that he might be an Irish National horse some day.
"I was on the lower stand so I thought he was beaten. I didn't think he got back up.
"It was his first time up in trip and when I was making the entry Paul said he didn't think he'd stay. I told him the only way to be sure was to run him." (GC & EM)
