The Two Jays provided Alan Crowe with a double on the card (won the first on Sitcom as he took the Kennedy's Bar Sligo Maiden Hurdle for trainer Christy Donoghue.
The son of Milan had shown little before today but in what was a poor quality contest he was ridden to lead entering the straight and kept on well from the last to win by five lengths at the line. Hurricane Jojo finished second at 5/1 under John Cullen for Steven Ryder while Benefit Biddy was a further four and three parts of a length back in third also at 5/1 for Bryan Cooper and Ray Hackett. Miranour was sent off the 11/4 favourite under Andrew Lynch for Liam Lennon but he disappointingly pulled up before the second last.
Christy Donoghue said afterwards; "He got his wind done since his last run. I thought he had a good chance today (backed from 12/1 into 8/1 on-course).
"It will depend on the ground where he goes next as he won’t go on anything bar soft. If the ground suited he could come back here again."
