Double for Bolger & Manning as Cleofila scores
Despite unseating and running loose delaying the start, newcomer Cleofila still managed to score in the Loder EBF Fillies Race, completing a double for trainer Jim Bolger and jockey Kevin Manning (the pair having scored earlier with An Ghalanta .
Amazingly Jim Bolger was recording his fifth straight win in this race having won it with Banimpire last season.
The winning daughter of Teofilo raced towards the rear early on but made headway from halfway to dispute the lead two furlongs out. She kept on well under pressure to get to the front close home scoring by a head at the finish from Coral Wave (4/1) back in second.
The winner drifted on track from 5/1 out to 7/1 at the off. Oh So Lucy who was backed from 10/1 into 15/2 this morning was returned at 13/2 and she ran an encouraging race on her debut to finish just three parts of a length back in third for Ger Lyons.
Aidan O'Brien 's poor form continued as the 9/4 favourite Soon could only manage a disappointing fifth under Seamie Heffernan.
Winning trainer Jim Bolger said afterwards: "I wasn't going to run her as she is a bit weak and green but we got away with it. She is one for next year.
"She is from a good Wildenstein family and she can only improve and may not run again this season."
