Tiger Moth (5/1 into 16/5 second favourite) gave Ballydoyle a double in as many races at Leopardstown, taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden under Wayne Lordan.
Seamie Heffernan rode the opening Aidan O’Brien victor, Ennistymon but here he was relegated to the runner-up spot on market-leader, Dawn Patrol (5/4). Half a length split them.
Indeed the ten furlong heat was an O’Brien benefit all told as he sent out the first four home. Son Joseph had the sixth, Hosier whilst the other Ballydoyle hope, Monument Valley finished seventh.
“He's a nice colt. He had a good run as a two-year-old and he's been working nicely,” said Lordan.
“He stays well. It rode like a nice race and he'll improve a bit when he steps up in trip as well.
“It was a nice performance.”
S. Foley, rider of Hint Of Stars trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ducked left turning in.
T.P. Madden, rider of Yulong Moneyreef trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got a bump turning in.
