Glance Of Doon was another to lunge late as she got up close home to claim the mile-and-a-half handicap at Tramore.

Chris Hayes looked to have made a decisive move half a mile from home as he kicked on Punta Marroqui The field were struggling to peg her back down the hill.

The Harry Kelly-trained Glance Of Doon was ridden along in fifth on the descent and still looked held in third at the furlong pole.

She stayed on strongly in the closing stages under Conor Hoban, however, and grabbed Punta Marroqui close home for a half-length victory.

The 14/1 winner didn't make much impression over seven furlongs at Fairyhouse on Thursday and was stepping up to this trip for the first time.

"They went good and hard. She is very genuine and she wants a mile and a half,” said Hoban.

“She ran over seven the last day and Shane Foley minded her and she was right for today. She loved the ground, the trip was ideal and she stayed at it well.

“Harry thought she'd run a big race and she handled the track well which is most important around here."

Hubert Burke, representing his mother Shelia who is from Clonmel, said: "She is in the game along time and she has been a great supporter of racing all along. At the age of ninety-five she still goes to race meetings and she enjoys her racing. The Kelly's have done a wonderful job with this filly."

9/4 favourite Gold Necklace under pressure in second from before the straight, kept on the same pace inside the final furlong to finish third.
