Dolly grabs Cheka close home
Lolly For Dolly left it late in the Group 3 Gladness Stakes, getting up close home to land the spoils in the Curragh's feature event.
English raider The Cheka looked to have burned his rivals off after cutting out the running under Johnny Murtagh in the seven-furlong contest.
But he was grabbed in the last 50 yards as Wayne Lordan got a great tune from the Oratorio filly inside the final furlong to edge the verdict by the narrowest of margins.
Tommy Stack 's charge was landing her second Group 3 event in a fortnight and continues another flying start to the season for the yard.
"She's a tough filly. I think she's better over a mile than seven and luckily today wasn't six-and-a-half!" said Fozzy Stack afterwards.
"I think she could go for a race at Newmarket on Guineas day. There is a four-year-old fillies race there over 1m1f."
