Denis Hogan and Brian Cawley completed a 535/1 double at Kilbeggan when Dedoctorsdaughter bounced back to her best to land the Bloomfields House Hotel Handicap Chase.
Like 66/1 shot Mysticaltou in the first, Cawley gave Dedoctorsdaughter, pulled up over hurdles at Downpatrick on August 25th, a beautiful waiting ride. He delivered the 7/1 chance, a daughter of Dr Massini, from the rear, to get into contention from the third last.
The victorious combination ultimately went on to account for Kanesh by a comfortable seven and a half lengths.
"Brian was very good and put her to sleep out the back. He's very good value for his 5lb claim. I really fancied her in a hurdle race the last day but we found that she was mad in season.
"I'd love to get her some black type and we'll look for one of those mares' races. She could run in a two and a half mile chase on the opening day of the Listowel Festival," disclosed Hogan.
For his part Cawley said: "I was over in Australia with the Irish team. I didn't have much luck but was second in a Flat race. I really enjoyed the experience, although it's very different to here with the ground rock hard." (AM & EM)
