Denis O'Regan's trip to Limerick for one ride paid off as Bobbie's Diamond ran out a cosy winner of the INH Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle.
The Tony Martin-trained gelding had been a big eye-catcher over fences at Fairyhouse on Easter Tuesday when chasing home Mr Diablo.
The 9/4 shot tracked the leaders in the 2m3f contest today and was nursed along to take closer order two from home.
He claimed 2/1 favourite Pakman after the final flight and was well on top in the closing stages as he was pushed out to secure a five-and-a-half length victory.
"Conditions suited well but if it was two furlongs shorter, we were in trouble,” said Martin.
"He is slow but keeps galloping away and stayed at it well. He needed that trip and ground and will be alright in that category.
"He could go to Perth for a winners' of one next."
